Observations from Fall semester working in the lab
In review of the Fall 2024 semester, my focus was on composing data briefs in order to show the work of the Central Illinois Human Trafficking Task Force over the recent years. First, I created the “Central Illinois Human Trafficking Task Force Training Survey Results: 2022” that included the total number of trainings, number of individuals trained, hours of training, the dispersion of who hosted the trainings, what group of people that the trainings were marketed for, and the distribution of where the trainings occurred throughout the entire year. Additionally, I created the “Central Illinois Human Trafficking Task Force Training Survey Results: 2023” that included the same breakdown of statistics as the 2022 brief. Following this, I used the “Central Illinois Human Trafficking Task Force Training Results” from 2020 to 2023 to create the summary brief known as the “Central Illinois Human Trafficking Task Force Training Survey Results: 2020-2023” in order to show how much work has been done over the four-year period of the grant.
After the completion of the briefs, I turned my efforts in the lab to focusing on composing the data for evaluation to be used in the “Central Illinois Human Trafficking Task Force Final Community Assessment 2024.” My job in the project, between Dr. Dean, Diana, and I, was to take the statistics from the 2019-2023 Final Community Assessments and show the progression of the number of trainings, the hosts of trainings, individuals trained, and many other categories of consideration over the years. I created drafts for the “Measuring the CIHTTF Impact 2020-2024” and “CIHTTF Trainings Impact” sections of the document that was later developed into the final publication by Dr. Dean.
Looking back, I believe it was a successful semester conducting research in the lab! I can’t wait to see what Spring 2025 in the lab has in store for my educational journey and contributions to the field!
